Older People's Information Event in Keyworth

Rushcliffe CVS have organised an older people's information event to be held on Thursday, 7th February 2013, 10.30am to 12.00 noon at Keyworth Library, Church Drive, Keyworth when staff will be on hand to answer any queries you may have about the services we offer to older people. Join us for a cup of tea/coffee
and gets lots of useful information on:

  • Housing Choices Service: A specialist service that offers older people help with housing issues and advice on energy, heating and keeping warm at home.
  • Community Outreach Adviser Service: A home-visiting service that reaches out to those over 50 to provide advice or information on issues such as benefits, support for carers, home adaptations, help available from social care, and getting out and about.
  • First Contact Signposting Scheme: By completing a simple checklist, people over 60 and over can be referred to voluntary and public services to get help with issues such as fitting smoke alarms, crime reduction, making repairs, falls prevention and social activities.
  • Rushcliffe Voluntary Transport Scheme: Volunteer drivers take people without access to transport on necessary journeys like going to the doctors, shops, social groups and to see friends/family up to three times a week.

The display is already up in the library – pick up a leaflet anytime or, even better, come and talk to us on 7th February.
