Update on COVID-19 Volunteer Campaign
Thank you so much for responding to our "Your Village Needs You" campaign. In just one week we have had a superb response and I am incredibly impressed by the people of Keyworth for stepping forward at this unprecedented time and proud to live in a village with such great community spirit.
As I am sure you can imagine, there is a great deal of coordination to do and we have prioritised our activities as follows:
First: we are making sure that anyone who called for immediate help is supported by being matched with a volunteer.
Second: we are currently working on our main aim, to make sure that every person who needs help has the phone numbers of close neighbours to call on and to look out for those most vulnerable among us.
Some of you have already organised yourself to do this and have volunteered to act as Street Coordinators. That is fantastic and something we want to see replicated across the village.
Third: we will be back in touch with more specific support and guidance as soon as we can, in the meantime keep doing what you are doing and looking out for each other.
I was immensely moved and humbled to call myself a resident of this village at 8.00pm yesterday evening listening to the applause and bells as the village and the nation expressed their gratitude to all those front line workers who are keeping our Country and NHS going.
Thank you all for being part of the Keyworth team and for everything you are doing. With your help we will make sure that no one in Keyworth goes through this alone.
Kindest regards,
Tamsin Armour
