Keyworth Parish Council Serving the village of Keyworth

Cllr Shelley Millband

I moved to Keyworth eighteen years ago from my home town of Grimsby, where I had a full life as a School Governor, GMB Branch Secretary and fundraiser for Childline. I am currently a full time childminder and I have five children of my own. My youngest child attends South Wolds Academy. I am married to Nigel who is Keyworth born and bred. I love living in the village of Keyworth and find the people in the community so friendly, kind and caring.

I am the Chair of the Keyworth Community Projects and the Fun on the Field Projects that both aim to support the local community. Whether it is providing free events for the village or reacting to certain situations such as the recent pandemic, in which the KCP has set up a food bank, we are as a group always striving to be there for the people of Keyworth. I am also a volunteer for the Keyworth Show Committee alongside being a Parish Councillor. At Christmas I lead the community dinner for people who find themselves alone at that time of year. Last but not least I run the Keyworth Community play group, that caters to young families in the surrounding area.

My passion is for the community, the people within it and how I can help to improve all aspects of it.
