Keyworth Parish Council Serving the village of Keyworth

I am a retired Chartered Accountant with an MBA from Nottingham Trent University and a background in the retail motor trade. I have lived in Keyworth with my wife Joan since we started our family in the 1980's. For much of that time I have been involved with scouts, including six years as Group Scout Leader, am Vice-Chair of the Keyworth Show organising committee and Treasurer of the Elm Avenue Mini Allotments.

Since finishing work in 2020 I have been researching green energy and the ways in which we can combat the climate emergency. This has been most interesting but has exposed a worrying lack of ambition at many levels, compounded by other items in the news which detract attention from this really important issue. I hope to contribute to our council's actions to combat climate change, encourage biodiversity and move us towards a more sustainable way of life.

I have a wide range of interests including participating in motor sport (everything from local rallies to international events), hill walking, real ale and, last but by no means least, my grandchildren.

My appointment to the council was to fill a co-opted place. By the time we reach the next election I hope to have made a worthwhile contribution to benefit the residents of Keyworth. Please talk to me around the village to let me know your views and concerns.
